Hey, I'm struggling with rendering motion blurred particles.

I created this particle simulation:

Now when I add motionblur to the scene with Solaris I get this:

I see the particle count has to be "multiplied" to be displayed with blur. But it seems they are visible too much time and blurred too weak. This is the rendered result:

It looks like the particles do not vanish at all. Do you know the reason for this? How can I fix it?

Can you post a sample file?

Sure, I deleted the other stuff in this file.
The fault occurs around frame 1080. I figured out, it happens later, if I doubled the motionblur subframe samples to 10. I guess they are just moving too fast. Still I hope there's any way to render this without processing hundreds of subframes, is it?

I'm not claiming to know what exactly is going on, but once I unpacked your geometry it rendered fine and fast, without the motion blur LOP and with velocity blur set in the karma render settings LOP.

Full disclaimer I also cut down the number of particles a lot while testing, but I'm assuming there's something wrong with the instancing here. Though I haven't done much instancing in LOPs myself...

Ok, I also just tested with a scene of mine and got the same issue: wrong or no motion blur with geo instanced to particles (packed primitives). Unless somebody else know the answer, I think this might be a bug or tech support issue.

Cheers,

I hope, someone has an idea here.
Thanks for your effort anyway!
