Just render this scene and you will see that instance objects are not on the same place as in viewport.

windows x64

Hi,

It's not a bug. The geo1 Object is offset from the origin so the instancing will have the offset as well. If you reset geo1 to the origin or put down a new object to be used for the instancing, you'll see that it's working correctly.

Cheers!

mmm… I think that instance must ignore transform of instanced object - like in 8.x.
If this behaviour is normal for 9.x, then viewport must show actual transform, imho.

sorry for my english :-)

Because Houdini9.1 can instance entire subnets, the transforms of the object being instanced needed to be taken into account.

However, there's an option (which isn't there by default) to change this behaviour.

If you edit the rendering parameters for the instance object, you can add the parameter “Instance transform” (use the filter at the bottom). Turning off the transform will give you H8.0 behaviour.

I've attached a version with one of the objects “fixed”.
