Hi, please check out my first attempts at motivating myself to learn Houdini.

I just joined the BattleCruiser competion, which is my first, and set out a goal for myself to go through most of the available tutorials so by the end I may actually be able to animate something.

Its amazing what a few Prims and Copy nodes can do really.

wow, for a novice in Houdini these are just outstanding results! A very imaginative idea and very cool images. Keep up the great work and good luck with the competition.

Oh, you are so going to have to look at using displacement materials as well. While you have to wait for renders to see final results, a workflow can be created that is pretty much as inviting for experimenting as you have discovered with the modelling.
It's so great to see a new user exploring houdini as it is meant to be used. Relaxing into the process and playing.

“everything is coincident”

thanks for the great feedback guys..

I've managed to create all the tools i need now to do some proper modelling. Displacement maps sound good. I'm really enjoyin painting the chunky geometry at mo. The process of refinement is going on slowly but surely.

If you've got an ass, houdini will kick it!
