FX Guide | Method Studios NY throws Particles-off Dance-off for AICP
Method Studios NY was chosen by production company RSA to create the 2016 sponsor reel for the AICP Show awards which honor work done in commercial productions. This is a big event in the commercials production community in the US and the reel is always a chance to showcase creative talent in front of an influential crowd in the industry and also have some fun making it. Method has released a Director's Cut, which can be viewed below.
Method conducted a motion capture shoot with two professional dancers (one male and one female) at House of Moves. This motion capture formed the basis of the performance animation, with Houdini procedural animation and dynamic simulations used to add the playful particles, feathers, fur, and more.
