Building on Windows 10 Sept. 25, 2017, 8:01 p.m.
I'm attempting to build houdini engine for Maya 2014. I'm trying to follow the instructions found on https://github.com/sideeffects/HoudiniEngineForMaya [github.com] but the example is for Linux. I thought the way to make it on Windows would look like:
But then I get an error:
cmake -DHoudiniEngine_ROOT='C:\Program Files\Side Effects Software\Houdini 16.0.736' -DMaya_ROOT='C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2014' -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=../install-maya2014 -DMAYA_VERSION=2014
But then I get an error:
The C compiler identification is unknown
-- The CXX compiler identification is unknown

The CMAKE_C_COMPILER:
cl
is not a full path and was not found in the PATH.
To use the NMake generator with Visual C++, cmake must be run from a shell
that can use the compiler cl from the command line. This environment is
unable to invoke the cl compiler. To fix this problem, run cmake from the
Visual Studio Command Prompt (vcvarsall.bat).
Tell CMake where to find the compiler by setting either the environment
variable "CC" or the CMake cache entry CMAKE_C_COMPILER to the full path to
the compiler, or to the compiler name if it is in the PATH.

I'm attempting to make lots of custom break on a coffee mug (currently I only have one and it isn't working properly). When I hook a grid part of the grid becomes part of the shatter and the handle not only separates from the cup but the handle shatters even though the grid doesn't cross it.
