Noob question here:
I am trying to map a sphere in Houdini with an spherical HDRI texture. Is there a way that I can get rid of the stretching at poles?
In blender everything looks nice and easy with the same texture applied on a sphere:

If you use cylindrical projection it'll be stretched. The correct way to UV unwarp a sphere for an equirectangular texture is like this:Image Not Found
