No, not correct

  • XPU does run on macOS, but it only uses the CPU device (ie will not make use of the GPU), meaning it will run very slowly.
  • The BakeGSplat node is a SOP, so runs outside of XPU. In fact the results of the BakeGSplat SOP will feed both XPU and the Vulcan viewport.
  • Because XPU is only running on the CPU on macOS, expect gaussian splats to run very slowly in XPU on mac. But the Vulcan viewport should run fine.

Note that Gaussian Splat rendering is not available yet for Vulkan in 21.0. This will be released in an upcoming production build.
