I've been working through the muscle transfer workflow in Houdini 21 using the templated otto muscle transfer template script that ships with the toolset. I've got the skin transfer working — my render skin is coming out correctly at the end of the RIG null — but I'm stuck on one specific piece and I can't find documentation that addresses it directly.

The situation:
I'm using the Otto character as my source rig (imported via the otto_rig_original File SOP, opdef:/Sop/testgeometry_otto?rig.bgeo.sc). The transfer toolset successfully transfers the rig to my custom render skin mesh. So that part works great.

However, because the muscle simulation works based off of animated bone geo, and I don't want to have to export into another DCC if I dont have to- I'd rather animate the bone geo that gets transferred from otto that is now in my custom characters position sitting nicely inside my custom character.(the rest bones null)

How do I transfer the otto rig onto the bones geo with the proper skinning rather than just onto the skin geo?

Hi casensitive,

Do the steps outlined here meet your needs? https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/muscles/muscle_ottomuscletissuesim.html#learning [www.sidefx.com]

You're essentially extracting the rig joints after your scene animate and then doing a bone deform of your transferred bones.
