Second year of Mardini.

I enjoyed it so much I felt like I was in a Dixit card game, when working on my idea and after that I saw that others thoughts were the same or super different. - it was nice surprise
I also learned a lot and it opened a lot of houdini doors for me, and touched parts of the program I never had the courage for, or just forgot that it exists.
It was nice to contact a bit with the same interest, I don't have the opportunity in my average days to have this.

and Mardini proved again to me that Houdini is a unique kind of tool for creativity, I never used a piece of software like this.

so thx to be part of this and I hope sooner than next year.

see you in the future mardini folks

And with this submission a crazy journey comes to an end! I'm so proud of us all! Putting out daily art like this is very hard to accomplish! And you guys inspired me to give my very best every single day.

I learned so many things during my first Mardini and it has been a lot of fun and learning. And also going out of my comfort zone. It is so cool to see this contact sheet and to look at this whole journey. What a difference a month can make! Thank you so much for this amazing community and the SideFX team ❤️

Looking forward to next year!

Another year, another Mardini done!

It was not easy this year as I had to balance between full time work and Mardini. The ideas and creativity were hard to fuel after long days of work.

I went almost 100% with Redshift this time. I also tried to push in a slightly different direction compared to previous years, focusing more on color, textures, and making the images more tactile. There are a few in here that I’m really proud of!

I’ll definitely try to join again next year. It’s such a great way to learn and grow.

Big thanks to SideFX, the judges, and of course all the artists who participated. It’s always inspiring and fun to see everyone’s submissions and the winners. Congrats to everyone!

Cheers!

Thank you for an amazing month!

It's only been a month since I first touched Houdini, so this challenge was tough—but it was such an incredible experience. I had so much fun creating works I’m proud of!

I’ll keep learning and pushing myself. Please check out my X for more!

This post makes me realize how much I’ve learned during my first Mardini, especially in modeling and texturing. It’s been challenging to balance it with my work as a compositor, but I’m really happy with the result and very excited to do it again next year with everything I’ve learned.

This month we’ve almost turned into a family! It was awesome and so much fun. Congrats to the winners — your works are amazing!

A huge thanks to SideFX Team for an incredible software that enables such a wide range of projects. And thanks to the organizers and everyone who was involved. This challenge is a clash of Titans.
Now I’m going to catch up on sleep — for the past month, I’ve been going to bed between 5 and 7 a.m. 🤯 But every day I grew up and learned a lot. An incredibly valuable experience

Wishing everyone an unstoppable flow of creativity and success, see you in March 2027!

Here is it !the end of my first mardini !!
A massive thank you to the SideFX Software team for putting these contests together.
After going through a challenging time personally and professionally, this challenge has truly helped me regain my motivation and the drive to keep moving forward.
It’s been tough but a lot of fun, and I’ve learned so much—especially when it comes to approaching "one-man band" projects in a single day! There were plenty of changes of plans and quick fixes to make sure I hit the deadlines.

I’ve been blown away by the level of the other artists and the ingenious, mind-blowing work they’ve achieved. I’m wrapping up with two 2nd-place finishes and 13th place on the leaderboard! The ranking itself isn't the most important thing, but it’s a great boost to keep going, especially during such difficult times lately.

Thanks and congratulations to everyone, incredible work!
See you at the next Mardini!

This month flew by! Huge respect to everyone who participated - you all made this month really fun and motivating.

I’ve been learning Houdini for just about a year now, and going into this, I wasn’t even sure I could make it to the end. I’ve always hesitated when starting new work, overthinking and chasing perfection. This challenge made me realize that perfectionism was probably holding me back more than helping. The best thing this challenge taught me is that it's okay not to be perfect - as long as I'm improving

Even though the challenge is over, I want to keep this momentum going. But probably not daily, haha.

Mardini2026, thank you very much.
This event gave me the chance to finally try Houdini, which I had installed but rarely used.
I was confused at times since there was so much I didn’t understand, but I really enjoyed it.

Hi! I had a great time and thanks for such an amazing event. This was my first time taking part, and I’ll be better prepared next time to do my best and get on the leaderboard! I learned a lot and noted down things I need to improve on. Can’t wait for the next one!

Congratulations to everyone on their Mardini!

Proud to have stuck it out for my first one

It was a beautiful experience to witness everyone coming up with new ideas day after day and pushing themselves to be creative, even on days when we only had a couple of hours or minutes.

While I was already aware of the skills I needed to improve, I now feel like the process of learning them has been jumpstarted.

I’m looking forward to joining everyone again next year!
