Hey Folks,
Have some geometry that used cookies, facets and and poly operations.
Not very complex stuff but never the less there is a bit of work on the geometry. I made it in H8.1. I wanted to use of the new features in 9 so I decided to bring it into 9.
When I bring this geometry into H9, I get some problems, with rendering,
like some geometry has no shadows etc. I Pretty much have everything set as usual and it renders fine in H8.1.
So I figure it is a stability problem and decide to bring it into H9.1 and WOW, the geometry is messed up even more, holes, missing parts etc.
So I figure it is some sort of Open GL problem with my card and H9.1, so I set HOUDINI_OGL_ENABLE_SHADERS = 0 in my environment variables, as Houdini requested on start up, and still have the same problems.
Although the dialog that requests the ENV is gone now.
Any body know what the heck is going on, or is having similar geometry/shading issues when bringing stuff into H9 and up?
I get this on my Windows 32 platform, as well as my Linux 64 bit platform.
Running NVidea Quadro 580 XGL on Windows and NVidea Quadro FX 1500 on my Fedora Core 6 Box.
Tanks in advance,
avid
