When I do character animation, I really think “Cloth” is very important. But Houdini does not help too mutch in making cloth simulation. I could only use the spring sop but it is not as effective as Maya's cloth!

Can any one help me?

I think it depends on what type of cloth effect you're looking for. In the mailing list, there were some tips on using the spring sop:

This reminds me of a mildly interesting discussion over at cgchar where they discussed the uses of cloth in character animation:

I'm very interested in cloth for Houdini as well. Houdini is so capable in so many areas, but there is always something missing that others go elsewhere for…this must be very frustrating for dev and users alike.

Is SESI working on a Houdini cloth solution? If not maybe Syflex could fill the gap, if there is enough demand.
