Greetings,
I've been working on a metallic paint shader.
This is what I have so far…

I'm still not completely satisfied with it yet.
My goal was to do a shader that could look good for far and close range. So when we are really close we can actually see the metal flakes in it. That part kind of works “ok” for me, but it feel like it's missing the moving sparkling effect when it moves.
Does anyone have a clue how I could achieve this? I'm running out of gaz a bit here.
I also intend to use it in some cartoony situations and the flakes looks to organic for me right now. I would have like to make them look more like micro metal square instead of random noise dots. But could not figure a good procedural pattern for that purpose. The only squarish pattern I could find are all aligned perfectly and I need them to be randomly oriented… So again, if anyone as a good idea to help me, that would be really appreciated.
Thanks! I joined the scene file to the post so you guys can have a look at the recipe!
Cheers!
