Hi everyone,
I just installed H11, and tried to open my project from H10 and find out there are a lot of materials missing in Material Tab, like for example ‘Concrete’, ‘Bricks’, ‘Metals’,…. Also in Shop network I don't see many nodes I saw in H10. Plus when I render I get kind of alpha channel looking image instead of full render. I'm on the newest iMac. Any thoughts. Thanks

I have also the alpha channel looking on osx mac pro but it is reported as a bug so, be patient :-)

Thanks, I shouldn't have deleted my previous version.

Greetings,
In Houdini 11, the SHOP tab menu has been revamped and many legacy SHOPs have been removed (see “ophide” in the docs). Houdini 11 also supports an active renderer list that Houdini uses to show you information relevant to the renderers you have chosen. You can edit this list by selecting Edit > Preferences > Rendering. By default, RenderMan and MentalRay are disabled, so all SHOPs specific to those renderers are hidden.

Thank you. I'm not into scripting. Although I tried ‘ophide’ and indeed I saw a list of many materials. Doesn't mean I can unhide them? Is there any way to put them in Material Palette? My problem is before I was using for example ‘Supermaterial’ in the Tab Menu or ‘concrete’ from Material Palette, now it's look like there should be another way to work with materials. I guess I have to wait for a tutorial.

Hi Andrzej,
Patience ;-) The dev team removed the old materials, because the whole material system has changed. So you can either load and use the old gallery (install H10, grab the Materials.gal file), being aware that it is now outdated, or wait a couple of days until they restore the full palette using the new setup. The most recent builds already have some materials restored.
Cheers,
Greg

They're still gone for me as of .733. Even grabbing it off the support page and reinstalling gives me only really, really basic materials.
