This might be a stupid question… Is there any $VARIABLE that allows me to manipulate by group instead of points or primitives?… fit01(rand($GROUP),0,16)

There isn't a lot you can do with expressions and groups so if you want to perform operations on a per group basis you'll want to use the ForEach SOP, which iterates over each group applying whatever operations you'd like to each groups geometry.
