I've ried repeatedly to install H11 apprentice on this machine and I keep getting a fatal error upon start up that cause Houdini to lock up and require a force quit. Basically I can't do anything.
I have H10 installed on this machine and it is rock solid.
Anyone encounter this or perhaps have a reason? In the meantime I will try different Macs to see if problem is across the board.

If you have an ATI card and are using H11.0.469, use a higher daily build instead. There was a hiccup with that particular combination in the current production build.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot. 472 looks like the latest daily.

I get the exact same error on my MacOSX. How do I get the latest daily?

I found where the daily builds are and will give it a try…

I had this exact problem recently. Turns out that I had to make sure Snow Leopard was installed (10.6.4+). Also, had to grab the latest build at the time (11.0.446.9).
This should work.
