I'd like to create an array of boxes (copy SOP) and make them grow from sy=1 to sy=20 but one after the other not all at the same time…

I tried Stamp, CHOPS, didn't managed

In some other 3D apps, this would be done with non linear animation (sort of animation clip copy).

Any clue guys ?

You can use chf() to refer to an animation curve at a given frame.
