Hi can someone please explain in simple terms what the following do as I am not sure at all.

Gas Strain

The Gas Strain Forces DOP uses a strain field to determine what forces should be applied to mitigate that strain. This acts as a restorative force to undo the distortion that caused the strain.

What is a strain ? Is it a force or “strains” selected pre existing forces.Restorative force ? So it makes the force act like elastic. Im only saying this from the parameter thats on the dop node.

Gas Strain Integrate
The Gas Strain Integrate DOP updates a strain field according to the given velocity field. The shears present in the velocity field are used to compute the strain it imparts and this is added to the strain field. The strain field itself is slowly relaxed over time to simulate plastic flow.

Does this dop solve the strain field created by the strain forces dop and add it to the vel field ? .

The strain field itself is slowly relaxed over time to simulate plastic flow

“plastic flow”is that something to do with viscosity ?
