Just wanted to share the render of my latest simulation.

Im actually quite emberassed about the render times.. I will take a look at some optimization later..

I used the Mantra Waterfall tutorial from Scott Keating to generate the foam.

600 hours rendering time on a i7 2600k… thats a long wait :-)
but it looks nice :-)

there are some tips on odforce or look the tutorials on sidefx:

how is the light shadow setup? did you use Ray-Traced or Depth Map?
i always try to cut the render time under 20min per Frame (8 threat's) mostly it works.

I am sure the render times can be brought down.

Post a scene file and see what can be done with it.

Thanks for the links, I will check them out as soon as possible!
I used raytraced shadows, I heard somewhere on the forum that PBR works better with raytraced shadows..

I might wanna experiment with other renderers to decrease render times..

Thank you for helping out optimizing my scene, I really appreciate it!
Took me a while to upload this scene.. I've included one frame, its one of the heavier frames to render.

I've uploaded it to my SkyDrive since it was quite big in filesize.
Please download and extract..
