I am very new to Houdini and the 3D software world, but I love it. Special affects really interest me and how to generate them. My question though is how do you use attractants, with metaballs. In other software it was automatic.

Please go to the Community [sidefx.com] section & under the Learn section on the left, click on Effects. There are different tutorials for POPs available & the Fire tutorial, for example, includes the use of Attractor POPs.

I would strongly encourage you to learn Houdini through the tutorials & training videos available. There are also more tutorials through the “?” button in the top right corner of the Houdini window. There is also an online Houdini course over at 3Dbuzz or you can order the Houdini videos through the 3Dbuzz shop.
