Hi,
WIN-XP 7.0.187 (haven't checked this for other platforms)
Would it be possible to include the $JOB env var and the contents of the jump.prefs file to be included in the “Location” pull down menu in the desktop manager?
Right now the “Location” menu only has entries for $HFS, $HIP and $HOME. Even though you can “Save a copy to…” and “Load from …” $JOB and entries declared in the jump.prefs file, the “Locations” menu never changes.
(BTW: one of the entries in the desktop mgr's “Location” menu is $HFS/bin/houdini, which isn't a directory)
Thanks!

umm
have you tried to enter valid variables into a $HOME/houdinivr#/jump.pref
if your environment has things already defined you should get any of those listings in you jump menu.

Yep, I've tried that. I't s not the “jump” menu I'm referring to, it's the “Location” menu in the desktop manager.

Yah, there always seems to be these little “corners” of Houdini that have their own prefs to the file requestor…quite frustrating I agree.
Cheers,
