Hi, I´m new to houdini and I´m coming from apps like FumeFX and TurbulenceFD.But I don´t know how to make a dust explosion or muzzle flash for a tank.I only know how to attach explosion preset to object and change the attributes. Also I want to know how to render it propertly and faster.I want to use houdini just for pyroFX, water sims and destruction. In 3DS max and fumefx the particle flow can be explained in one video but I think that here it will be much harder.

Sorry for my bad english.

I need something like this muzzle flash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvRgHzVAfX8&feature=youtu.be&t=1m58s [youtube.com] but in smaller size.I read somewhere that this was done in houdini in 2006 so I think it wouldn't be hard to replicate it today. Can someone help please?Or post a tutorial that cover it?Thanks.

Any good houdini 13 pyro tutorial there?I can find only the old ones from houdini 10 and I think that H10 have a different pyro system than H13.

Thanks.I already watching tuts from Peter Quint but somehow I missed these.

Finnaly I know how to add smoke or explosion to particles but I have this problem(or not?) http://i.imgur.com/3isjusC.png [i.imgur.com] Can I change it to the normal or there is something wrong?

This is my procedure:
1.Drop and rescale the Tube object
2.Attached Source Particle Emitter
3.Set gravity to 9 and keyframed particle Const. Birth Rate
4.Attached pyro explosion to source_particles in obj level

I worked up a preliminary pyro sim based on the Explosion shelf tool.

Need to tweak the emission and combustion of fuel along with handling of the expansion divergence fields on the Pyro Solver.
With massive velocities (main 16" guns have a muzzle speed over 300m/s!!!) you need to slow the sim down and/or add sub steps to resolve the massive velocity.

I like to advect the fuel with these kinds of sims. Advect at 0.9 to 1.0 to push the fuel through the sim.

Have a look at the attached file for a start at this.

Thanks you very much Jeff Awesome sim for learning
