Nothing I try seems to work. Has anyone been able to import animations created in Houdini to Unity?

I cannot find any forums, tutorials, videos with an answer to this particular issue nor how to's. The Digital Tutors site is also dry

One of the secrets for this is to follow the biped or humanoid joint naming assignments listed in the Unity docs.

There seems to be no trick to it. Said to only export the fbx normally and select a range frame.

It is what i have been doing but no luck.

Hi Jorch,

Did you resolve this issue?

I had a very similar problem last year but never managed to get past it.

I ended up re-rigging / animating in Maya, which was a pain as every single asset for my game was from Houdini.

I've not attempted any character rigging in Houdini since, which is a shame because Houdini is now my primary tool for game dev.

For info, my thread;

Did you have any luck?

Rick.

Hi all,

Just a follow up on this topic,

I've just managed to complete a new custom bone rig in Houdini Indie 15 and it imports into unity fine using the default .fbx export setting.

All deforms and animations seem to import fine into Unity5, however my old problematic files still won't work.

Might be worth testing a new rig?

Rick.
