Hey all,

This is a bunch of stuff [simonfarussell.com] I've been playing with for a couple of months. Basically exploring the audio in Chops and trying to learn the program in general. One of the main reasons I picked up Houdini was its audio abilities and it turns out whilst it's tricky to get started there's a huge amount to explore. It does seem though that barely anyone uses the audio capabilities in Houdini.

It's mainly rendered in C4D as that's the software I'm most comfortable with.

Anyway thoughts or links to anything similar welcome

Thanks
Simon

Love the work!

In terms of similar work in Houdini, there's lots of stuff from just googling “houdini audio chops” (or search for “houdini audio” on vimeo). However, for some of the old stuff:

Hey thanks all and thanks for the links. I know Daniel Sierra and Andrew Lowell's wonderful book. I will stick on my headphones and have a listen to Andrew Lyon's work!

Hi these are terrific! How can I hear waveforms that I've generated in CHOPS? I can't figure it out.
Thanks.

You can just put its path in the audio panel (one of those buttons on the right side in the playbar).

Hi guys, my first post. I'm also looking for ways to control animation with audio.
That's it for now other than to say that the Simon Russell work is awesome and the tokeru site is something I'm going to have to keep up with in the future. Totally distracted me from my original search.

Cheers

Back on subject, I'm trying to follow this driving animation from audio tutorial from a while back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhLUdgAO7XA, [youtube.com] but I'm using Houdini V16 NC instead of who knows what he's using, I've been trying to solve this channel error for days now, “Error
Channel height0 not found.” in channel1 in the boxes sop, was hoping someone might be so good as to take a quick look and see if they could pinpoint the error? Here's the hip:

Hello,
Any way for still getting the Andrew Lowell book? The linked site seems to be down.

http://www.andrew-lowell-productions.com/ [www.andrew-lowell-productions.com] looks like it's still up but the page for the book seems removed now. I'd try emailing him (bottom-right on the website).

Thank You! Will do that.
