Is there a tutorial for using houdini's wonderful non destructive modeling/boolean tools directly in Maya 2018.4 using Houdini Engine?
How would I get the booleans to work in Maya?

The houdiniEngine plugin is not working in 2018.4, we believe due to a Maya issue with multi compound outputs:

If you were to try it in 2018 gold, you should just be able to create an asset with boolean node in it, export the relevent parms, load the asset in Maya and then do setToSelection from the attribute editor to connect the two inputs. Do you need more details on either the Houdini steps or Maya steps to do this?

Thanks Julia! for the reply. I'll wait till the 2019 fix I suppose, I'm unable to roll back at the moment. I think your steps are clear, but I may have trouble as I'm a quite new to Houdini. Maybe I can check back in later for more details?
