Any eta on 4.22 support for plugin?

Hi,

UE4.22 is already supported by the current daily builds for Windows.
If you're on Mac, you'll have to either wait a little, or build the plugin from the source that ship with the current daily build.

I'm having trouble getting it to work with a c++ build… keep throwing an error

I think those errors come from the 4.21 plugin code?
My bad, since the 4.22 plugin isn't built for mac, we actually don't ship the source code with the installer…

You should try using the 4.22 plugin source code from github:

MacOS and UE 4.22 (UE source, xcode etc.)

I found plugin for Houdini 17.5.224 in:

Compile and Xcode shows that :
Couldn't find the HAPI include folder!
Houdini Engine : Please install Houdini or Houdini Engine 17.5.224

I just download & install 17.5.226, to try. Same.
No have daily build of Houdini 17.5.224. Only 17.5.226 and 225.

Any tips?

Is there any estimate on when 4.22 plugin will work on mac? And if it builds from source why not release it?
As it is now, UE4 4.20 and 4.21 works very very badly on Macos Mojave (system freezes etc) while 4.22 works fine. That means until the new plugin is released it is very hard to work cross platform

Today's daily build ships with the 4.22 plugin for Mac OS.

I tried the daily built that supports 4.22 but it seems like it's super unstable.
My HDA generates a couple of meshes and spawn-points and crashes 4.22 all the time. Almost unusable.

Works like a charm in 4.21 though. Maybe it has something todo with UE4's new mesh generation pipeline?

Anyone else experiencing this?

The new Mesh Description format did cause some crashes on early versions of the 4.22 plugin, but these should be solved by now.

Could you submit a bug and send us the HDA that's crashing ?

I rolled back to 4.21 to be able to keep working.
But I'll re-install everything, try to reproduce it in 4.22 and will send the HDA.

Had the problems with Houdini 17.5.229 and didn't see anything new in the changelogs (or is there a changelog only for the plugin as well?)

Do you want me to submit a bug, or post stuff here in this thread?
