a speedy joyride right there! Still rendering as we speak(write?read?) As always time is of the essence, hehe.
edit: this polished River [vimeo.com] is the version i could've made if i only had 20 more minutes but deadlines, am i right?

Spent too much time building the set and not enough time realizing the small bit of action that I'd planned for this.
But, I like what it became and I hope you do too.

UPDATE: For full transparency, as of 3/11/2021 at 9:50am (PST) the render completed and I uploaded it to replace the short 14 frame version. The gif below however still reflects my original 14 frame on time submission. 
Today didn't run smoothly at all, and having a machine crash on top it put me way behind. Sadly this video is still rendering as I type this, so I can only present the first 14 frames of it. lol Enjoy.

Mardini_Day10 River
I just tried a new art style and using houdini to make the Chinese ink painting for the first time.The most famous topic is landscape panting which normally includes mountains,rivers,boats,fishermen and birds. The scene and color(made of black,white and dark cyan) is simplified but not simple.Also,There are lots of empty space for imagination which expreses the ancient Chinesee philosophy about space, nature and human relationship.
Houdini heightfiled and erosion solver can naturally make this detailed debris and flow mask which is quite suitable for the black and white color gradient. Hope you like it.

Better late than never? Could have be ok as "flow" as well....

Took a little longer to sim and render, waterfalls could have been a littler nice and denser
Lava river. Very incomplete, but have no time to finess it further.
