Hello Houdini Community!

Whenever, I use Height Fields, and go to the "Advanced" tab, and select "Mask On" - the paint option always remains greyed out and not usable - is there something else I need to do to activate it?

I have searched the Houdini documentation, google, etc. What am I missing? I have been watching the H17 Masterclass on Terrains and Ari Danesh just turns "Mask On" and it works. I am now taking his H17 Masterclass on scattering and still the same issue.

(I'm not an expert, just working things out on the fly)

try this:

01) connect the hf to your hf erode 2nd input, the greyed out icons should come alive

02) click on the icon, start painting, you'll see a couple of nodes added for you
