Today is the first day of SideFX Labs week - we are going to start with the Box Cutter node.

We don't have a tutorial video for this one. You are on your own!

I was perplexed.
Usually I use "S" and "Enter", but this is confirmed with the "A" key.
"A" key is used to confirm.
Otherwise, it will disappear.

Here's my submission to the Sidefx challenge


Had a spare day. So I decided to build out a fun little shot.

The box cutter was used to create a bunch of SciFi elements and structures. Also took advantage of the Labs Scifi panel.

I had a lot of time to spare so I got excited and did a bunch of things to the scene including animated lights. and animated 2d motion thing in After Effects. Even pulled out the modular synth for some crappy sound FX.

Was a bit stumped for what to do with this one and did not have much time this evening. Then I noticed you can animate both the cutter and the item being cut, and if you move the item being cut off center things get... interesting so I made.... this.
