I wanted the lens shader to work in XPU, but it does not. Literal RGB lights mixing around forever in here.
This was my initial look I was going for with the distorted lens, but the infinity mirror was fun to pull off using Karma shaders either way.

Made some music to control the lightmix with chops, definitely going to experiment with this more.

The return of the Terror from the deep, ANIMATED OHMAHGAD
It was immense fun animating that thing entirely with what I learned during the kineFX week. Tentacles, wheel, and rope rigged, constrained, looked-at, etc. Works very well in this case. The most obvious use was to get a loop ( it's looping, kids! yay ! ) effortlessly.
Of course there were some caveats, notably with secondary motion preroll, but nothing too annoying. What was REALLY ANNOYING though was the fact that light mixer seem REALLY VERY buggued when trying to keyframe anything in attribute mode. For some reason it would very often just delete all the keyframes from the current light. It works way better with the slider, at the cost of accuracy, sadly.
I have a lot to learn about solaris - and not enough time this week to do it... still I can see this becoming useful in the future.

A cool node that allowed a nice second level of control over my not so optimized CHOPs driven lighting setup. The project file crashed over ten times, but again... CHOPS.
Of course, I dove into Karma on the second to last day of Mardini and now regret not using it the entire time. It is much quicker than redshift in solaris for quick viewport feedback and much more.
I hope you enjoy this one. I am looking forward to future implementations of controlling lights this way.
