Hi all.

I have some foot and hand slide in this example mocap.

What would be the best way to lock the feet/hands in place at particular points? Im basically not sure if I should be looking at KineFX to lock it or APEX.

If it is KineFX should I be turning the mocap to fullbody IK, or maybe turning it into a clip?

There are quite a few thoughts in my head as to what to look into but any guidance from this would be super useful to point me in the right direction so I don't "slip up" (pun intended).

Best. Mark

You should probably lock it in KineFX. There are quite a lot of great tutorials and masterclasses about these things - KineFX, some about crowds also have some great tips about correcting the animation. My solution is simple but it works for this example. You can check in the HIP file in the attachment.
If you then want to transfer the animation to a character rigged in APEX, you can refer to this example file: KineFX/APEX Workflow [www.sidefx.com]
If you end up using APEX, you could also correct the animation of the feet and palms directly in APEX.

this example talks about correcting sliding feet if you want KineFX Terrain Adaptation [www.sidefx.com]
