Hey All,
I have 21.0.440 installed on Rocky 10, with KDE 6.3 Plasma.
The mouse scrolling works in the viewport of Houdini, but does not work in any of the context areas.

Is anyone else having this issue? Also, I can't seem to see any daily builds for 21.0 to see if the issue has been addressed.

You might be running KDE under wayland? As I've also observed scrolling issues under wayland.
Running KDE under X11 should fix it.

I am running KDE under Wayland on Rocky 10
No other programs have scrolling issues... and scrolling works in Houdini in the viewport. It DOES NOT work in the context areas (OBJ, MAT, OUT, etc..)
This behavior DOES NOT happen in 20.5.684... 20.5.684 is fine.

Then I would suggest you submit a bug report

Just a quick update:
Support knows about this bug, and other bugs related to Wayland. There is a workaround for this bug. Just hold down the spacebar while scrolling with the middle mouse button.

Just an FYI... X11 cannot be installed natively in Rocky Linux 10. XWayland is your only solution. This is according to the Internet forums and AI.. hahah and it is not in the repos.

I also contacted support and told them about the workaround with the spacebar. I hope they will still look at it, as the workaround does not work for say scrolling the parameter pane which can be quite annoying if youre used to it. I really hope they can iron those ones out, as it otherwise seems to be flawless on wayland so far! And a bit unfortunate, as it used to work just fine on Houdini 20.5.

The spacebar workaround helps in regards to zooming in and out but the parameter pane is a bit of a showstopper. Assuming that the parameter area itself is smaller than the parameter pane (so that the scroll bar doesn't appear) - scrolling up or down makes the parameters disappear for that entire type of node. Is there a workaround for that other than restarting houdini?

Any ETA on this bug fix? I never realized how much I rely on the middle scrolling. :-)
