Is there a way to add additional inputs to a Geo node via "Assets/Edit Asset Properties/ Max Inputs" and have access to these new inputs somehow ? And then in such a way that the input can be connected to any node added inside the Geo node ?
For instance : when I create a Geo node and add an Input Parameter next to the Transform parameter , I can't find any way to connect this new input to anything inside the Geo node, it seems completely useless.
For instance ; when I add a "Sphere" node inside the Geo node and would like to connect the Bounding Source input of this sphere SOP to the new input of the Geo node , so it can be controlled by a completely different Object , this is not possible.
And when I create a Subnet instead of a Geo node with 4 Sub-Network Inputs , it initially looks like what I need because of the "Sub Network Inputs" , but I'm back to square one because I only have access to the same nodes I have at "Obj" level.
I've been searching for this for a while now , but no luck so far.
One would expect something like this to be a basic feature of a node based app like Houdini , so for instance one could create an HDA with the ability to connect objects at Obj level so you don't have to go inside a node to import and connect stuff every single time , it would make Houdini way more user friendly and less clicky.
Is there some secret way to do this , and would someone be willing to share it ?
