Hi everyone,

I have an issue with CHOP Trigger and Count. Both always give out animation curves that can not fall back to 0 from one frame to the other even if the release length is set to 0. Therefore I have a lot of flickering in my audioreactive simulation.

In the past I solved thi by rounding the values to integer in SOPs but now I need the curve in the beginning of every trigger. I just want the value to fall back to 0 in the very next framme once it reaches the maximum. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

There is an image attached to visualize the problem in Motion FX View.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried using some of the CHOP network 'utility' nodes, like: limit, trim, cycle, etc.?

Great idea, sadly doesn't solve the problem. The cycle node automatically smoothes the nice straight line that the trim creates.

Even if it would work, this workflow breakes the whole audioreactive purpose because the cycle creates a regular pattern that the song of course does not have.

Anyways, thanks for your help!

Nonetheless your approach gave me the idea to resample the curve once again after the trigger. That does the job!

For anyone who is interested: I set the interpolation for the resample Node to "Pulse Preserve" and resampled with a real high rate. This way the original structure and exact trigger points are preserved while the triggers fall to 0 perfectly from one frame to the next.

Cheers!
