I was wondering if the scene files are available somewhere that were used in this video Rigging and Muscles Siggraph 2017 (https://vimeo.com/228247052)?

We are currently looking at Houdini as a solution to our muscle needs and would love to dig into a scene that yields the results shown here.

Thanks!!

Hi houUser, did you see this?

Hi HouUser, I'm not sure if Scott has posted the Minotaur example anywhere yet. The T-Rex legs demo'ed in the Muscles Masterclass video are available for download here [www.sidefx.com]. But these muscles are setup with only the skin deformer workflow (ie, non-FEM). The FEM version of the Masterclass and associated files will be available closer to the release of Houdini17.
thanks

Thanks for the information. We look forward to seeing those examples and also whatever is on the horizon for 17.
We've been breaking down the tlegs hip file and are definitely interested in the FEM setup, especially in regards to setting it up with externally created muscle/skeletal systems.

Thanks again.

Hi! I know it’s an old thread, but I’m looking for some FEM muscle setup examples and I couldn’t find any. Did you end finding them?

I am interested in checking out the FEM muscle setup too !

there are 2 old muscle setups [www.sidefx.com] in the Context Library

even though you may want to check out the new Otis Muscle and Tissue in H21, which comes with recipes unless you specifically want to keep using the old muscle setup

Thank you. I already checked those examples, but they are not FEM. I know there are different solutions for muscles vellum, the new Otis solver. But at the same time, I wanted to explore doing them in FEM to decide which method to use in which case.

In our internal tests, the Otis results were virtually indestinguishable from FEM, only much much faster. Save yourself the effort and go straight to the Otis solver in H21!
