Hi there,
Could we remove the words: “Board footer”? It feels like unreplaced template text.
Thanks,
Jason

Mobile layout is quite unusable. Android/chrome.
Wide borders, odd spacing, no room for text.
The lofi version shows much more content.
Thanks,
Jason

Also mobile version doesn't let you hop directly to the last page of multiple page posts. Eg, page 8 or something. You have to inch your way along.

To me (and others I’ve talked to) the SideFX site now looks like all the other technical product websites and that’s not necessarily a good thing to me. Heavy on images and wasted space, low on relevant information. The previous main page provided a lot of more direct information with regards to customer stories and company news as well as upcoming training (when it existed) or other events. Now you’re presented with scrolling series of massive and scrolling images that are short on useful information. There is a single item visible for customer stories, news and tutorials whereas previously you were presented with a lot more.that nails it perfectly! and sadly goes for most sites these days. even worse, the new site not only got absolutely nothing individual but also copied all the problems that such sites have, too. like for example completely unnecessary and way too much use of js. i can't even see the login form without js, wtf?
the design however is really poor. actually, can it even be called “design”? especially for one of the biggest shots in the gfx industry the non existant level of creativity is a joke.
i'd scrap the whole thing, sit down and think of what actually makes sense and then come up with a worthy representation of one of the oldest and most advanced gfx companies in the industry
edit: and in favor of the users' privacy whatever you get from jquery.com should be hosted locally.

Couple of notes, perhaps mentioned earlier but then just +1 them to previous.
- I might be stupid but several times now I've hit the “REPORT” button when my itention was to reply. It's just next to the “QOUTE” button and I dont know, it's just so damn inviting to click.
- When I upload files I no longer see how manny people downloaded it as we did before, I sort of miss that, it's nice knowing solutions or problems are beeing downloaded and looked at.
- I greatly miss the feature on the dailybuild page where each build had 2 (?) links to whats changed since version x.
- I do think the new layout of the daily builds is a bit “buzy” too, and there is no indication of how long ago there was a succesful build for your preferd OS.

I too find myself missing the download count for attachments; it was nice to have an idea of how ‘prolific’ a file had become, or how many folks actually downloaded it.
Also, the non-Houdini/SESI yellower-orange is still prevalent in the dark theme. Only the orange that shows the current page looks correct (see attachment).
Cheers!

Hi, cool looking new forum!
I just have some feedback and questions regarding the changes.
And some suggestions:
I just have some feedback and questions regarding the changes.
- Is there an option to have a WYSIWYG mode when typing a new post?
- Is it possible to format a text to CODE on the same line, not on a new line?
- How do I insert an image that I've attached inside the body of a post? Currently all attachments will only appear at the bottom of the post. It would be great to be able to insert attached images in between sentences/paragraphs.
- Will there be a page or a guide on how to use the forums? Particularly, I'm looking for formatting examples that is supported by the new forums.
And some suggestions:
- I also agree, the top black bar could be thinner.
- The PREVIEW button/icon could be placed below, just beside the SUBMIT button. It doesn't even have to be an icon, it could simply be the word itself.
- +1 for the download count display on attachments.
- A minor suggestion.. remove the gray color from the smileys, and maybe replace it with white? (for contrast)
- the “list” does not seem to be showing bullets. Numbered lists works ok.
- Go to First/Last page buttons/links.

Forum login is pretty obtuse on mobile. Had to randomly stab around to discover how to do it:
Tap arrow in top right, menu slides in
-scroll around menu, find barely discernable ‘LOGIN’ link at bottom, click it
-menu slides down, doesn't actually reveal anything
-scroll to top, still nothing
-tap arrow to close menu, ah, there's the login fields hiding at the top

Just wanted to go to the last page of a 20 something pages thread and realized that I had to put in some work. I'm assuming this is being taken care of and we'll soon be able to use this new feature.
Gonna quote myself here since it seems the issue hasn't been addressed yet and is a major PITA, as in making it “impossible” to go the last page of a multi-page thread.
Am I the only one having this problem? I'm starting to think there are first/last page buttons I'm not seeing since people don't seem to be bothered by this, so maybe it's just me I'm thinking.
edit: OK, browser address bar editing for getting to a page it is then

I would expect an Orbolt link in the navbar up top, no?
Also, where do Webinars appear?
Thanks,
Jason

Does somebody care about web design of these pages anymore?
Are you planning to hire some good web designer?
There are many comments and good suggestions but no progress. If not, it's ok, just be honest with us.
Bad design of the new forum from my point of view:

Bad design of the new forum from my point of view:
- Quick links at the bottom of page - seriously? Why not in the same line as page numbering?
- Huge empty space - everywhere. On 1920p 24" screen forum takes half of the screen size at max.
- Vertical spacing between lines is huge too. I can fit only 2 post at the single screen at average. Imagine having book with only two sentences on each page.
- No go to last unread/visited post in forums (only in Show Recent Post that shows all sub-forums - What if I want to follow only some sub-forums? No way in current design.)
- Non-uniform colors all over places (dark layout), different shades of orange everywhere. Most of the “orange” text in the forum looks like Foundry's yellow color than Houdini's orange. Why?
- No functional WYSIWG - this is modern feature.
- No https when logging. If I go sidefx.com -> click login -> I'm on the non https site.
- No https when linking from orbolt either: When signing on orbolt via sidefx login it goes to unsecured http://www.sidefx.com/openid/decide/ [sidefx.com]
- !Report, “Quote Message and post number takes another huge three lines. Wouldn't be better to put post number next to the post date. !Report and ”Quote befor that post date and Message button to the left “user” part of the post instead of that useless colorful line?
That way you would save 3 lines for more content! - I would also love the option to set custom (smaller) size for signatures.
- Also option for smaller version of user icons would be great.

I am not sure where to post this but I have a bug on the website that needs attention. When you download Houdini from the website, the page produces a license agreement dialogue box. The dropdown menu that allows one to agree to the license only activates when you have scrolled through all the text. The problem is that activation does not occur on small screens. I am on a mac book pro, with limited screen space. I had to go fullscreen and then scroll the text to have necessary controls activate. Only then I was able to accept the agreement and download Houdini. Kindly look into this. Thank you.
