What are DOP Network's input ports for?

It might be a really stupid question, but what are these 4 input ports for?



For one to bring SOP data into DOP network, one needs to use some "import" nodes like SOP Import DOP, POP Object DOP, etc, right? It seesm that connecting SOP node directly to the input ports of a DOP network does nothing?

If you see "context geometry" as an option in a DOP (for example, this screenshot was for a crowdsource DOP), that's what the DOP network's inputs are for
