Anyone else experiences this?

Same thing in 16.5.473. Updated to the last nvidia driver.

edit: seems like the affected objs are Box and Sphere. Tube, Torus and Grid are fine.

i got same or similar problem in “coffee mug” ( tube primitive ) asset i made 2 days ago too. cant select edges after bevel node. no answer from devs since 4 days is very interesting..

Although filing a RFE will not guarantee an answer from Support (as I've frustratingly learned) you should definitely do that in case you haven't done so already.

Until an official answer will come your way, you should post a scene file or gif animation showing your problem, because thus far, the only problem I've encountered with selections are for the primitive Obj I've mentioned above. Custom (modeled by me) geometry seems to behave well.

Per the Journals:

16.5.482 also does not fix it

I cant select points and edges
prims and vert seems to be ok.

Hmmm

I encountered this issue a couple days ago and filled an RFE. It was acknowledged and logged as a bug by support.

Had the same issue. Reverting to Production Build 16.5.439-win64-vc14 brought me back to work. Perhaps this is a temporary solution for others as well.

Thanks to the folks who logged bugs for this. Fix is in today's cut of 16.5.483.
Olaf Finkbeiner
yes that fixed it, at least for me.

Thanks

I see that this bug was fixed in build 483 and would like to know if this is available to download somewhere? The reason I ask is because the latest daily build (491) doesn't work with Redshift 2.6.10 so I have the option to test 483 or roll-back to 439.

Quoted for reference from the Redshift forum:
“Probably something critical for our plugin has changed in the Houdini 16.4.491 daily build HDK, so a new proper plugin build could be needed (again) for the next Houdini production build. Meanwhile, I’m afraid that you are going to need to work with the latest 16.5.473 Houdini production build.”

Yes, this is a problem for me as well. It would be great if someone could point us to the location of older daily builds (if there is one)

Ah, me too. I thought it was some super-obscure weird setting i'd accidentally turned on!

I spent all day fighting this! I could select points and edges, but not primitives. So frustrating. I should have looked here earlier.
