On the download page, there seems to be no Houdini engine 17 for linux?
Or is it included in the main houdini install?
I see the folder /opt/hfs17.0.352/engine, but it does not contain much…

Are you looking for a specific Houdini Engine plugin? Houdini Engine refers to the C API which is included in the main houdini installation for linux. Docs are here:

FYI,support confirmed, there is no seperate install required for Houdini Engine 17.
