Hey all,
any idea how to create the light lines from the prism?
I've got dispersion working fine and understand that, but can't seem to get the separate light rays entering/exiting with respective colours?

Hey,
just a quick one, how do you use the arclen expression for measuring perimeter of a curve?
arclen(surface_node, prim_num, ustart, ustop)
Cheers
(Solved)
@primd = `arclen(“/obj/curve_object1/curve1”, 0, 0, 1)`;

Hopefully a simple one.
I've got two grooms
I've simmed both grooms individually which works fine, I then want to groom merge them and Generate hair…
it doesn't seem to pass through sim data though? Is this because Hair Gen wants to interpolate and so overrides any incoming data?
Any ideas?
Thanks

If you change it to ‘By Size’ it works fine
*//Thats in uniform sampling on the cloud

No worries.
Here is a quick example if you need it.
Can't upload to the forums for some reason, but here it is…

Use a field force and connect in a velocity field. i.e. create a Box in sops then make a fluid force add some fields, probably Vel in y with some curl noise for your example, and then load it into dops

If you look in the Geo spreadsheet in primitives, under “name” attribute you will have each piece with it's own piece name.
So with this you can do a bunch of different things to grab your pieces.
For example, put down a blast node and add this @name=piece1 or whatever your piece is called and change it to delete non selected.
You could add a for each loop to do something to each iteration as it will use the piece name attribute to go through each fractured piece of geo… list goes on.

Hey,
Merry Christmas to all.
I'm looking at rendering a few images out and wondering what the main difference is or advantage of using the stereo camera versus the vr camera? Am I able to view both in the viewport for preview?
What glasses would I need to view either image?
Thanks!

Hey,
I'm wanting to convert a Quaternion into a Matrix3.
@orient is my quaternion attribute.
Tried
@neworient = matrix3 qconvert(@orient);
any ideas?
Thanks!

plugging a value into the Cd channel gives Cd.r Cd.g. Cd.b. in the geo spreadsheet, if I want to remap this into a arbitrary named attribute it comes out as this.0. , this.1, this.2… so no rgb for example.
When middle mousing, Cd comes up as .3fc, while my renamed attribute comes up as .3f
any ideas why ? I'm using a bind export and have turned off override with input, and have it set to Color as type.
Thanks!

Hey,
I have an object that's been uv mapped from 0-1.
I'm wanting to grab the point that's nearest 0. The point order is random on the object.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hey guys,
trying to add a prefix to my current path with a python sop.
for p in geo.prims():
path = p.attribValue(“path”)
p.setAttribValue(“path”,“/something/originalpath”)
that sets the value fine but I need to concatenate the existing path and not sure how to do that?
Thanks!
