Hi,
is there a way to use a different number of cores for different tasks? e.g. I have a simulation with 4 wedges. The simulations a quite heavy and I want them to simulate one after the other, not parallel. Then I convert the sims to abc files which can be done in parallel. Can I do this somehow in one top network?

I assume you're using local scheduler. You can add the Single [www.sidefx.com] job parm on the simulation TOP node to force them to run in series. The downstream conversion TOP will by default run in parallel.

Independently of the scheduling, for any houdini-based work you can limit the number of cores by adding the Houdini Max Threads [www.sidefx.com]

Here's [www.sidefx.com] how to add scheduler job parms.
