New Modeling tools ¶
-
Path Deform SOP deforms geometry to follow the shape of a curve.
-
Chain SOP repeats one or more pieces of geometry along a curve.
-
Attribute From Pieces SOP creates an attribute controlling what piece will be copied to points, randomly or based various rules.
-
Mask by Feature SOP creates a point attribute “mask” based on visibility/lighting, letting you limit the effect of other nodes to areas that are visible, or facing a certain direction, or in shadow.
-
Scatter and Align SOP scatters points across a surface with randomized scale and orientation attributes for use with Copy to Points.
-
Point Deform SOP deforms geometry on an arbitrarily connected point mesh.
-
New Attribute Adjust Float SOP, Attribute Adjust Integer SOP, and Attribute Adjust Vector SOP for randomizing/noising/conditioning attribute values.
-
The Attribute Noise SOP was rewritten to work with attributes at all levels (detail, primitive, point, vertex) and be more convenient and powerful.
-
Topo Transfer SOP deforms a surface to match the size and shape of another surface.
Improved tools ¶
-
Attribute Paint SOP has improved user interface.
-
Poly Bevel SOP has improved bevels and more convenient interaction in the viewer. You can ⇧ Shift-click edges in the viewer to add them to the bevel, and ⌃ Ctrl-click edges to remove them. You can also easily add loops, change the bevel size and the number of divisions in the viewer.
-
UV Flatten SOP is redesigned and now performs island straightening.
-
Bend SOP can now mirror the bend across the start plane using the Deform in Both Directions parameter. Also fixed some edge cases with Bend handle interactions.
-
The grouping nodes are faster and respond more quickly to interruption by the ⎋ Esc key.
-
The geometry spreadsheet now has an option to display values with full numeric precision.
-
Many more SOP node types are now compile-able.
-
When the Bound SOP creates a transform attribute it now sets the attribute type to Matrix instead of None.
-
The Transform Pieces SOP now supports getting transforms from packed primitives in the second and third inputs.
-
Enumerate SOP now takes a piece attribute to enumerate elements of the pieces separately.
-
SOP geometry now supports dictionary attributes, an attribute type where each element (point, vertex, primitive/face, or the whole geometry/detail) can store a key/value map.
