How to use multiparms.

Overview

Houdini supports multiparms, which dynamically create multiple instances (copies) of the contained parameters. The following are the different multiparm types:

  • List displays the instances in a list.

  • Scrolling displays the instances in a list inside a scrolling area.

  • Tabs display the instances in separate tabs.

See Folder settings for more information about Multiparm Block folder types.

Using tabbed multiparms

Note

The tab on a tabbed multiparm instance displays its current index. This means that moving or adding instances into a middle tab changes the tab names of later instances without affecting their contents. An exception to this is when the tabbed multiparm has a custom label set, which makes the tab labels move along with their contents (see Folder settings for more information about the Multiparm Label Reference (Multiparm Block)).
