Hi there guys! I'm fresh and new in the forum, is a very exiting experiencie to get in the world of houdini! so… first of all hello to everyone!
This time i'm trying to turn any object to voxels or 3d pixels. I took a sphere for instance and apply “iso ofset” node, with “tetra mesh” in the ouput type and “cubes” in tetra type.
The main problem is that inside of the object I have tons of vertex of every box created with iso ofset, and I want only keep the faces of outside, only de result geometry. Is there any procedural process to select the inside vertex or faces an then delete them? I have complex results and select vertex one by one is not a valid option in houdini
ramiro from freshman to freshmen. Go over some tutorials to start thinking procedurally. Mos of freshmen ask “linear” questions about a nonlinear package not to mention the language difficulties . Once you untie your brain everything becomes clear even chaos. Share your scene, clarify your request. This will get you moving.
As for your question. You may want to check the GroupGeometry You can procedurally delete your inside-boxes with some geometry selection by feeding to it the geo. in your case a smaller sphere. Chose the bounding obj your geometry volume. This lets you select only points.
(note: this is also a freshmen s answer there may be tons of ways to do what your asking)
Hope that helps.

Hey man!!! thanks for the reply first at all. I watch all tutorials about think procedurally and I do a few things allready like change my way of think, but in this case I can't figure out how do it. That's why I'm asking help . I will take your advice and put the scene as atachment to explain myself in a better way. My idea in the scene is get rid of the inside information of the geometry. Maybe my problem is not have the exactly information of each node
If you see the scene in wire you will see what I mean.
See its starting to move forwards. This is all i could do. Like i said before there may be many ways to do this. This makes your obj a bit lighter. Hope this is more or less what you want. Cheers G
thanks again man, In this particular case your file is exactly what I want, the thing is that the sphere is just an example of geometry, because I want apply the system to other kind of objects much more complex. so the “bounding sphere selection” won't be usefull in that case.
But thanks anyway for the feedback and the good vibe!!

Check out the GroupGeo more closely, if you would have done that, you would have seen that in that same drop-down-menu there is also “Bounding object (points only)”. It lets you chose the geometry with which you want to select your inside-points-boxes. eetus scene taught me some other ways around the problem so check it out.

Sure thing man.thats why we are around here to get and share the knowledge about Houdini. Cheers G

Thanks a lot guys!!, I will investigate closely the tips and the files that you gave me and try to study what came out. As soon as figured out will post mi solution thanks again!!! and merry xmas!
