Hi, Newby here.

Starting my Houdini journey with a film in mind, i'm struggling creating a volume sim that only affects the geometry based on the proximity of another, i don't really know if this is the best way to do it but i think i can have more control of it.
So i have a particle and a volume sim acting on a simple mesh but i want that this two sims start acting on the geometry based on the proximity of another, i read on another forum that i can pin point groups based on this but have no luck trying to achieve it that way because i don't really havea control on the animation, my whole idea it's that this animation starts gradually, so i don't know where to really find the answer i'm looking.
Is this the best way to achieve the control i'm trying to create? or there's a more efficient way to do it?
i attach my hip file if you want to have a look.

i really appreciate every comment and help i can get for this!!

Hi. You think you could do some simple drawings or do you have some references of the effect you are looking for?
I brought in your file but I have a hard time understanding what you are trying to do.

Welcome.
