I am using linux 9.0 and would like some help creating something. How do I create a new button (using the Menu Editor) on my desktop for houdini to startup without the need to open a command window and type:
cd /usr/hfs6
source houdini_setup
houdini
I think that I have to type some commands for this to work…but, I don't know what. I just learned how to do this for Netscape and would like to do it for Houdini. Thanks to anyone who replies.

just as a suggestion, but I would put the houdini sourcing stuff into your “.bashrc” or “.cshrc” files(depending on the shell you're using). That's what we do. That way, each shell you open automatically is setup for Houdini. Personally, I don't like the annoying “initialized” message so I edit that out of the setup script…
Alas, I'm not using RH9 so I don't want to set you astray with guesses of what mischief the Gnome people have been up to…
Cheers,
