Is there any way to get position and value of current point in a float ramp?

I would like to convert these values to frames and display them using Label parameter on my DA.

I know you can get position and value of any point by using its number but I want the current selected point which is displayed on the Point No. parameter on the ramp.

I'm looking to do something similar. I need to get the current point number in a float ramp. Is there a way to achieve this ?

There's no way because that “Point No” field is strictly local to that particular parameter pane. You can have multiple parameter panes showing the same operator and they can all have a different “Point No”.

Thanks Edward. I'm trying to include ramp parameters in takes without using auto takes and I'm having trouble in doing so. My callback gets run only after the point is created and it breaks all my ramp settings. is there a way to work with ramps in takes manually or through scripting ?

Thanks

Perhaps you can use a separate button that will run a callback script that enables auto-takes, increment the multiparm instance count, and then turns it back off.

I'm not clear. How can I have a separate button for my ramp ? The user will click on the ramp to add a new point. You mean the user have to click that separate button everytime he wants to add a point ?

Yes. But perhaps it should just add several points at a time.

But how do you know that the user wants to add these many number of points ? I'm sorry. Can you give me an example file ?

You don't, the user has to say how many he wants to add. I'm saying that I don't think there's an automated method to do what you want right now.
