alembic export not working

Hello guys,
I'm trying to export geometry animation via an Alembic node and I am getting an error. it says “Not in the correct object network”. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? Thanks.

Check in your Alembic ROP whether you linked the “Root Object” directly to the Object you're trying to export. That doesn't work. Your “Root Object” usualle is “/obj” and the “Objects” then is the name you want to export (or just “*”)

Thanks for the input ripclaw. I've gotten exporting geo correctly. Its when the geo is simulated through dops where I am having the problem. I cant export simulated geo through the Alembic rop.

I often have trouble with alembic export from a moderately complicated network. To get around this output the result as a .bgeo sequence. Then open a fresh houdini scene. Import the .bgeo back in and with that alone in the scene, do your export to Alembic. Don't know why but it has worked when the expected way does not.

in a fresh houdini file i have a bgeo seq which i am trying to export through alembic format, what i get in maya is a polysurface node in outliner & nothing in viewport even after applying any material.

console said.

// Error: Error getting adding to initalShadingGroup. //
// Error: No connection done for node ‘OUT1’ with //
// TST_AlembicNode5

any help ll be highly appreciated
