Hi, I am getting comfortable with houdini day by day. I mostly do VFX and Motion title. For VFX Mantra is excellent. But for motion title it seems mantra is lot slower. I used to do render for motion title in Maya software renderer. Yes it's weird but that gave me a pretty cool result with minimum time possible. So my question is, Does houdini have this kind of pretty basic render engine? Or anyway to configure it in Mantra?
:?
Thanks in advance !

Edit: I was experimenting with micropoly and it seems with tile size of 200 its getting more faster. also the dice parameter helps.

Other than Mantra Houdini also supports other render engines like Renderman, Arnold and 3Dlight. You motion work 3Dlight is better and faster.
To reduce render time in Mantra use Ray Tracing Engine
And go to Properties>Sampling:
1. Turn off Allow Motion Blur (by default it's off)
2. Reduce Pixel Samples
3. Reduce Volume Quality
4. Turn off Stochastic Transparency
And under Dicing reduce Shading Quality Multiplier.
That way you will get faster render by sacrificing render quality.

Thanks for the reply. I will try it. Is there any render engine available to make GI less render in Houdini? can 3delight or mantra can make Gi less render?
