Hello all, I'm very new to this forum and to Houdini in general.Like many other enthusiasts, I was truly amazed with the launch of H16 and all that it promised & delivered. Well, now a few weeks into my very first endeavor into Houdini, I'm simply amazed! Don't get me wrong, Im having issues. Houdini crashes with a fatal error almost every time I quit the app, but not until I get some truly amazing results. What an incredible application. I just hope that some of the most recent bugs get worked out. I'm going to put in the time and effort to learn Houdini, I just hope that Houdini has my back
I did have a line of not-reproducible crashes on quitting Houdini or loading a second project, but those became very rare with the more recent daily builds. Check out the most current versions from the daily-builds site: https://www.sidefx.com/download/daily-builds/ [sidefx.com]
If the crashes persist, try to collect data (e.g. the crash file in your houdini_temp directory) and send that to support@sidefx.com - they are quite good at taking users serious.
