Trigger Animation in DOPnet

Hello,

I'm attempting to create a sorting machine for RDB objects in a DOPnet. To do this, I need to move a static object based on the position of an active object inside a DOPnet.

To simplify the setup, I have an RBD packed object (sphere) that is affected by gravity. Below the spehere is a tube that is a deforming static object that will serve as the collider.

I'm trying to have the tube move in the negative x direction to hit the sphere when the sphere reaches a specified y-position. Ideally, the position of the tube would reset in order to collide with additional spheres that will be emitted.

I'm having trouble understanding how to trigger the animation of the collider based on the position of the falling sphere.

Do not use collider with static object, but include your tube as rbd objects with i@active set to 0. Then you can do whatever you want with animation using geometryWrangler

How would I go about animating the tube based on the position of the falling sphere?

Where is the "i_am_tube" group being set?

you can set it up in sop land to diferrentiate sphere and ball, active and inactive, whatever suits you

I've created a sample scene that is more representative of what I'm trying to achieve. How would I trigger the animation of the tube to collide with each blue falling sphere, pushing the sphere out of the way then moving back to the tube's origin after pushing the blue sphere.

First of all, RBD needs packed objects to work with
Second, any initial behaviour is better set on sop level

Hopefully this gives you lead to what you can do next.
